Our Origin Story
In 2003 our Co-founder, Steven Eddy, was working for a large international business consulting firm when he made a sales call on the Owner of a plastic parts manufacturing company. In the middle of the sales pitch, the Owner politely stopped Steven saying he did not need these services. The Owner said what he really needed was for someone to figure out all this government grant stuff and do it for him as he had zero time and patience to deal with government bureaucracy. Steven, aware of these programs, told the Owner he would be back with answers for him. The next day, armed with information, Steven agreed to work on and submit a grant proposal for the Owner. To everyone’s delight, the grant was approved and the Owner and his company received more than $20,000 in funds. The first grant proposal for this company turned into 4 more successful proposals which resulted in referrals to other companies. Thus, SJE Consulting Ltd was created.
