Meet our Team! Read on to find out who we are, our roles in the company and what makes us smile.

Steven Eddy

Co-Founder and CEO

steven@sjeconsulting.com

Recognizing a need in the Canadian marketplace for the services that SJE Consulting offers, Lori Anne and Steven started SJE Consulting Ltd. in 2003.

As Co-founder and CEO, Steven uses his extensive knowledge to develop and train an effective team. He participates in situations needing his guidance, experience, and knowledge. Steven’s greatest asset is his acquired perspective from being involved in the day-to-day activities of the company over the last 22 years. Steven is monitoring the responses to the current economic times in order to guide our clients in taking advantage of government funded support programs and useful business services and information.

Over the years, Steven met thousands of business owners, learning and working with them.  Steven is amazed by their resilience and the scope and variety of their products and projects.

Steven graduated from McGill with a B.Sc. earning the Governor General’s Medal for placing top in his faculty. Steven worked with manufacturing companies for 14 years, then the next 10 years with a financial services company.

Four things that bring out Steven’s charming smile are time with his large family, mogul bashing on a Black Diamond ski run on a sunny day, and sitting at a café sipping a good Scotch in Paris or Rome.

Lori Anne Eddy

Co-Founder and CVO (Chief Visionary Officer)

lorianne@sjeconsulting.com

As CVO of the company, Lori Anne has her finger on the pulse of current events and trends thus enabling her to see the big picture. This allows her to pivot and redefine the ever-changing role of SJE Consulting in the myriad of opportunities within the Canadian economy. Her motto, derived from Chinese characters, is “this may be a crisis but it is an opportunity as well”. Lori Anne’s assets are her curiosity, willingness to break out of the box, quick intelligence, and ability to converse with everyone.

Lori Anne graduated from McGill with a B.Sc. in Food Chemistry earning the Governor General’s Medal for placing top in her faculty. Lori Anne started her career at a Canadian Distillery as the first female manager in the Research and Development and Quality Control departments. Subsequent career changes included banking and financial services.

What brings Lori Anne’s heart and soul joy is playing with her young grandchildren, taking photographs, creating with paints, kayaking, and having adventures in foreign countries.

Jason Adams

Director of Operations

jason@sjeconsulting.com

Jason joined SJE Consulting Ltd in April of 2020, right at the height of the Covid pandemic. A career change during such an uncertain time was an out of character risk for Jason and his family, and it is the best move he ever made in his career.

As the Director of Operations, Jason is involved in 2 main areas. Within the company, Jason keeps the many projects flowing from the initial sales stage to the final reports. With the client, he works to initiate the projects, engages in all client liaisons to bring the projects to fruition. Jason’s greatest asset is his can-do attitude and work ethic. Jason’s reliability and trustworthiness is recognized by all who have dealings with him.

Jason’s background blends technical aptitude, management, direct sales, and business to business sales, thus making him very adaptable in a diverse set of circumstances. He takes a great deal of joy in being able to help Canadian businesses grow and flourish.

Things that bring a warm smile to Jason’s countenance are the crunchy leaves of autumn, reading history, fantasy and sci-fi books, baking breads and cookies, walking his two dogs, spending time with his wife, and rainy evenings

Linda Lesko

Office Administrator

linda@sjeconsulting.com

As our Office Administrator, Linda coordinates our client services, handles all the accounting and bookkeeping, and keeps our databases up to date. Linda’s greatest attributes are her penchant for numbers and her tenacity. Diligently working through the numbers and balancing the books gives her a sense of great accomplishment.

After a full career centering in accounting, receivables collections and computer data programs for a diverse cross section of industries, Linda came to us in 2021 after realizing that full time retirement was not for her.

Things that bring out Linda’s engaging smile are walking on a beautiful spring day seeing all the flowers in bloom, eating tasty spicy foods, getting together with family and friends and beating her cousin at darts.

Michael Soboren

Technical Analyst

michael@sjeconsulting.com

Michael joined the SJE Consulting Team in October 2023. As Technical Analyst, Michael’s job is to meet with clients and write up applications for grants and tax credits. Mike prides himself on being able to understand the technical details on client’s projects, get the nitty-gritty particulars, supplementing that with solid research, and writing the proposal or technical descriptions in a manner that is easy-to-understand by all.

Michael has a very diverse writing career. After obtaining his degree in History from the University of Calgary, he worked in the aviation sector, writing operation procedure manuals, pilot and instructor training manuals for drop zone operators, and was a member of Transport Canada’s Canadian Aviation Regulatory Advisory Council. Michael continued with technical writing during his time as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves, creating squadron level presentations, and performs developmental, line, and copy editing.

Beyond his workday, things that bring Michael happiness are spending his time in his trailer out in the Alberta Foothills, taking his dogs for long walks, reading Tolkien or other fantasy novels, and staying up late stargazing with his telescope.

Rita Mingo

Technical Analyst

rita@sjeconsulting.com

As a Technical Analyst, Rita uses her years of experience to assemble the facts as presented by our clients into a coherent story for the grant applications. Rita brings to her work attention to detail, sussing out the truth and the hidden, getting facts straight and not procrastinating in the face of difficulties.

Rita graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree majoring in English. Her love of the English language led her to working extensively in sports media in Winnipeg and Calgary over the past 40 plus years. Her excellent abilities overcame the status of women reporters thus enabling her to cover all sports, including baseball, lacrosse, hockey, football and one Olympic Games.

Rita finds joy in being close to both her daughters, a paleontologist and a flight attendant, enjoying a plate of pasta at an outdoor restaurant in Rome, watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the umpteenth time, and remembering her Mom and Dad with gratitude for making her the person she is today.
