Budget 2022: Canada’s Agricultural Partnership

Heads up! This post is now 3 years old, and the content may not be current information.

The Canadian Agricultural Program has been renewed for another five years. An infusion of a $1 billion investment in federal programs and $2 billion invested in joint federal and provincial programs will boost the original 2018 $3 billion investment.

Climate change, food insecurity, and world events make it more imperative than ever to support Canadian agricultural innovation, sustainability, competitiveness, and market development.

A comprehensive suite of support programs for farmers, jointly run by federal, provincial and territorial governments, is intended to strengthen and grow Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sectors. Its framework includes business risk management programs intended to help farmers cope with volatile markets and disaster situations.
